Cultural events

The traditional Lieto Week is held every August. It is a week of colourful summer events that the municipality organises all over the municipality together with local actors.

Cultural Services organise the municipality’s official celebrations, which are free of charge.

These celebrations include:

  • Finnish Independence Day on 6 th of December (6.12.)
  • National Veterans Day on 27 th of April (27.4.).

Lieto museums

Nautelankoski museum, settlement and nature area are located by the River Aura. The area holds the Lauri Nautela Museum, which has a functioning water-powered stone mill built in 1806 and an old homestead museum. In the summer, the museum organises exhibitions.

At Tarvasjoki Homestead Museum, you can learn about the history of the Old Oxen Road and its travellers.

Vanhalinna Museum is a museum and cultural centre.

Vanhalinna has exhibitions, an archaeological trail and nature and history trails.

Escort card

The escort card makes it easier for people who need assistance to do recreational activities. Residents with reduced mobility, disabilities or a long-term illness can bring an escort free of charge to 11 municipal sport facilities and cultural venues. You can ask about the escort card at Lieto citizen’s office.
